We visited The Jetty Restaurant at Ocean Village, Southampton for a Christmas treat from Alun, Gemma and Emmie.
Have to say it was an absolutely superb experience. We opted for the tasting menu.
The food was exceptional. The staff so attentive and nothing too much trouble. We had saved our voucher until the summer hoping for a warm day and we were so lucky to be able to sit outside on the terrace in beautiful sunshine watching the yachts.
The following week we went to Lime Wood Hotel in the New Forest for another Christmas treat, this time from Stuart and Tina. We started with pre-lunch drinks in the beautiful library then enjoyed a scrumptious lunch with charming staff in beautiful surroundings.
Unfortunately, not so lucky with the weather this time, as it poured with rain which was a shame because Lime Wood is surrounded by the New Forest, which was established by William the Conqueror after he invaded in 1066. Funny to call a 1,000 year old Forest "New". Perhaps next time we will be able to enjoy the wonderful walks.
Amazing presents. Thanks again.
