In order to let Mummy do some work we took Chloe and Jamie to the Red House Museum in Christchurch where we enjoyed making Chinese Dragons (Chinese New Year).
Such good value at £2.50 each. The museum is a little gem in the heart of Christchurch, which is run by friendly volunteers. They even did a dog hunt (year of the Dog in China) with a prize if you could spot all of them. (We needed a clue for the last one, and even with a clue it was hard). The children were so excited when we found the last one. The museum is stuffed full of local social history made accessible to children through a range of hands on experiences. Modest in appearance, modest in attitude but bursting with pride from local people and local history. Step in and be charmed.
It was then time for lunch so we went to Prezzos in Bridge Street. The children love it here - I wonder why?
Then on to the Clay Studio. A great place to be creative. Watching and helping two little people (4 and 6) painting pre-made clay models is so rewarding. Cost-wise, not inexpensive, but, unlike so many other "attractions" you get something memorable as a result of your efforts.
And then it was time to celebrate Mummy's birthday.
Happy Birthday Caroline.
