Yesterday Chloe celebrated her 6th birthday ( which seems nearly impossible to me) with a jewellery making party. Her birthday wasn't just magical for her, but for me too.
It was time to celebrate this 6 year milestone with Chloe's close friends. When the girls entered the party I couldn't help but smile as their eyes widened at the beautiful array of colourful beads laid out before them. They couldn't wait to touch and feel the different colours and textures and you could almost see their little minds ticking over thinking, "What will |I use?".
As the guests arrived, we invited them to choose their beads and Caroline guided them through completing the bracelets and, after some dancing and games, a necklace.
Don't they look cute.
The birthday cake is a huge part of any party and the children loved this one with all the sweetie bracelets. It was delicious too, well done Caroline.
After the girls and boys (who lovingly made jewellery for their mothers) had finished their jewellery making it was time for pizza and strawberries on a Mikado stick. The children thought I was teasing them when I said they could eat the stick. "Are you sure?".
They also got to take their handiwork home in their party gift bag, which they had decorated with their name in diamonds, (real, of course). They were so proud as they showed their mothers their jewellery.
I really enjoyed helping the girls put their pieces of jewellery together and watching them come up with their own wonderful and unique creations - little works of wearable art.
Children have a way of making older feel like the most super thing that can happen in their lives. There is no better feeling than being a child and it's your birthday.
Happy 6th Birthday Sweetheart. Enjoy growing up.
